From Campus to Blockchain: TóróNet Partners with University of Abuja to Tokenize Agriculture

In a step toward merging blockchain technology with real-world assets (RWAs), we at TóróNet are proud to announce our strategic partnership with the University of Abuja in Nigeria. This collaboration, part of our AgriFi dApp—a project that enables us to finance thousands of smallholder farmers across Africa through a complex web of partnerships and technology enablement—will unlock 150 hectares of university-controlled land. Together, we’re enabling the next generation of agropreneurs through blockchain-powered solutions.

Tokenizing Agriculture for Real-World Impact

In Nigeria, almost 5% of arable land is under the control of academic institutions—a hidden gem that can drive food security and economic growth. With Project Omega, we’re putting that land to work. Members of the university community , from villagers to academic staff and to student, carefully selected , will cultivate 150 hectares, equipped with blockchain-based tools like Soul-Bound Tokens (SBTs) for their digital identities and transparent access to funding.

These SBTs will act as Digital Business Profiles (DBPs), allowing us to tokenize each student’s agricultural venture and connect them to our global network of investors. Using TóróNet’s blockchain infrastructure, we’re enabling students to access stablecoin-backed investments, ensuring they have the climate-smart capital needed to bring their farming projects to life.

A Joint Effort to Revolutionize Agriculture

The partnership includes key collaborators.

  • University of Abuja: Land allocation, student selection, training, and ongoing support.
  • TóróNet Corporation: Implementation of blockchain infrastructure, including Soul-Bound Tokens and capital flow management.
  • VorianCorelli Corporation: Market linkages, innovative financing models, and data-driven gap analysis.
  • Feed Nigeria Summit  DealRoom Framework: Global transaction management and stakeholder engagement.

Why This Matters for the Crypto World

At TóróNet, we’ve always believed that blockchain technology can drive real-world change, not just speculation. Through our partnership with the University of Abuja, we’re proving that belief. By tokenizing farmland and creating investable opportunities, we are building the bridge between DeFi and traditional finance. This is not just theory—Project Omega is a real-world application that attracts global investors to agriculture as a new and promising emerging asset class.

Here’s what makes this partnership revolutionary:

  • Real-World Assets (RWA): We’re turning 150 hectares of farmland into tokenized, investable assets that global investors can access.
  • Stablecoin Finance: We’re enabling students and farmers to secure capital through stablecoin-backed flows, ensuring financial stability and transparency.
  • Blockchain Utility: Through Soul-Bound Tokens (SBTs), we’ve built digital profiles that track agricultural production and yield in a transparent, secure way.

This initiative is part of AgriFi, TóróNet’s flagship project that enables the financing of thousands of smallholder farmers across Africa through a complex web of partnerships and technology enablement.

At TóróNet, we’re not just talking about blockchain innovation—we’re making it happen. This is a living, scalable model that delivers economic empowerment to communities while offering measurable ROI for investors.

A New Dawn for Blockchain Real Use Case

At TóróNet, we’ve spent years building a solution-driven platform that transforms industries, empowers communities, and connects global investors to the real economy.

Our work spans multiple groundbreaking initiatives that showcase blockchain’s transformative potential:

  • AgriFi: Already providing decentralized lending to hundreds of farmers, with a waiting list of over 300,000 eager to access funding for their agricultural ventures.
  • Plastoken: A pioneering project recycling millions of plastic bottles, turning waste into economic opportunities and driving environmental sustainability.
  • TóróNet Ecosystem: Our network is rapidly expanding, with over 300,000 wallets created on the TóróNet blockchain, enabling individuals and enterprises to unlock the power of decentralized finance (DeFi) and real-world assets (RWAs).

By partnering with the University of Abuja, we are planting the seeds of a decentralized, inclusive future—where blockchain bridges capital, identity, and agriculture to drive food security, job creation, and economic growth.

For us, this isn’t just about technology; it’s about delivering on the true promise of blockchain: creating scalable solutions that empower people, protect the planet, and provide tangible returns for investors.

Together, we’re building the future.
